Paul Noetling

After years of drug and alochol abuse, Paul finally came to the end of himself at 18 years old when his roommate died at a Southern California. It wasn't long after, in the summer of 1988, the Lord began to draw him to the Risen Savior through Calvary Chapel's radio ministry, K-WAVE.

In February of 1989, he made a public declaration to accept Jesus Christ as his personal Lord and Savior at Calvary Chapel West Covina. Shortly after accepting the Lord, Paul felt a tremendous burden for the east coast and full-time ministry.  And so he moved to Costa Mesa and sat under Pastors Chuck Smith and Oden Fong (greetings to the Tuesday Night Fellowship).

In the summer of 1994, Paul and his family took a job transfer to Atlanta Georgia. At that time, it was just Paul, Jennifer and their beautiful daughter, Kaitlin.  Now Jennifer and Paul have six beautiful children who love the Lord.  You might say, their quiver is overflowing.

Shortly after landing in Georgia, Paul served as Youth Pastor for 6 years at Calvary Chapel Roswell and Calvary Chapel Gwinnett.

In March 2002, Calvary Chapel Cobb was started with 7 adults in a theater house on the Square of Marietta. In just a few years, the Lord has faithfully added to the church.  Our philosophy is its about Jesus!  Our vision for the church is Acts 2:42 to continue in the Apostles' doctrine and fellowship, in breaking of bread and in prayers and to keep it simply about Jesus!

Thom Holmes

  thom@calvarycobb.com
At the age of 24, I had spent the previous 4 years drinking heavily and doing a multitude of drugs. In March of 1980 I met the woman who was later to become my wife. Two months later I accepted the Lord through the witness of my future wife Robyn. We were married 2 years later in April of 1982. After that we started attending Calvary Chapel Atlanta. I was a solo musician in bars and restaurants around Atlanta prior to becoming a Christian. I stopped playing music for about 2.5 years after I accepted the Lord. While attending Calvary Atlanta I began playing on the worship team and later formed a band that traveled the Southeast playing in Youth Detention Centers, prisons, churches, and motorcycle rallies. I lead worship at Calvary Atlanta, Roswell, and Alpharetta off and on for about 20 years before coming to Calvary Chapel Cobb in 2007 about 10 months after the death of my wife. I have been one of the Worship Leaders at CCC for the last year (Jan. 2007). I count it an honor and a privilege to be able to serve the Lord in a capacity where not only do I get to do what I love so much (playing music), but I am also allowed to lift up the name of the Lord in Worship and Praise. My desire as a worship leader is for the congregation to be led into the presence of God where they are able to sit at His feet and worship the one true God. The Author and Creator of our lives and the One to whom one day every knee will bow and every tongue confess that He is Lord, and then, we will worship Him in beauty and truth.

Ben Rodriguez

  ben@calvarycobb.com
Raised in a Christian home, Ben Rodriguez as a teenager systematically rebelled against the teaching and admonition of his mother and father, Kathy and Silvestre. Alcohol, drugs, and an attitude of self-rule were the calling cards of his youth. It wasn't until the age of 17, reached by a neighboring family in the Flathead Valley of northwestern Montana where he lived, that the fruit of his parents' tireless ministry finally came to bear. Ben accepted Christ as Lord and Savior, and though the years since have been far from perfectly lived, he continues to grow in his relationship with Jesus. His life brings out the truth of the words in Ecclesiastes 3:11 which state that "He has made everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from beginning to end." With the knowledge of Jesus Christ and the joy of salvation, Ben's walk with Jesus has taken him places he had never dreamed to see, and has led him to countless divine appointments. Currently, Ben lives in Kennesaw, Georgia with his wife Veronica and their 3 children. He serves as a Children's Minister for Calvary Chapel Cobb.

As Children's Minister, it is Ben's aim to share the love of Jesus Christ to our little ones at every opportunity. The gospel is ever a part of the curriculum, and lived out in the way the teachers interact with the children. The Children's Ministry also focuses on the Word of God, utilizing "chapter by chapter" learning tools to give the kids a strong foundation in the Lord's promises. And finally, Calvary Chapel Cobb's Children's Ministry challenges each pupil to live out their faith using volunteer ministries such as puppets and young servant assignments.
